Canadian Progress Club Halifax Cornwallis was honoured this past weekend at the Canadian Progress Club National Convention to be recognized with the National President’s Award. This recognition of Club of the Year for 2014-2015 is awarded to one club on a national level each year to one club who excels in all areas of fundraising, community service and club operations. This is award is reflective of the hard work and dedication of all of our members, and truly demonstrates that the work we do in the Progress Club matters in our communities. Our member, Lorna Rowan-Legg was also recognized as National New Member of the year, acknowledging her contributions to the organization.

Progress Club Regional Convention

This past weekend was the annual Progress Club Regional Convention. The Pictou County Progress Club hosted a wonderful weekend at the Pictou Lodge on the north shore of Nova Scotia full of education, the business of progress and fellowship. During our Annual General Meeting, the annual regional awards were handed out. The CPC Halifax Cornwallis was thrilled to tie for the “Presidents Award” (Regional Club of the Year) with our Brother Club CPC Halifax. Both clubs worked hard this year to give back to the community in which we live. Many charities benefited not only from our fundraising but also our volunteer efforts. The region, which consists of 8 clubs and 267 people volunteered over 4,100 hours and raised over $600,000. Congratulations to all the clubs in the region and here is to another great year to come serving our communities. (May 2015)

Congratulations to the Canadian Progress Club Halifax Cornwallis

On Saturday, May 31st among their peers of the Canadian Progress Clubs Eastern Region, the Canadian Progress Club Halifax Cornwallis won the President’s Award, also referred to as club of the year. A huge honour for its twenty-fifth year in existence. This award combines the sum of the clubs contributions to the goals of Progress. A group of women from a variety of backgrounds and professions we all have one thing in common – we want to get involved and make an impact on the community we live in. We predominately focus our efforts on charities and activities that help women and children.

The Canadian Progress Club is a dynamic fellowship of charitable-minded Canadians who are passionate and committed to strengthening our communities through hands-on service and fundraising, to benefit those in need.

After a great deal of hard work over the past year through our various fundraisers and volunteer hours. Our main charity locally is Phoenix and nationally it is Special Olympics Canada.

Congratulations to all our members.
